The Narellan Road extension is now complete. The extension was opened to traffic on Friday 26 October 2007.
The RTA has now upgraded two Narellan Road intersections at Mount Annan. The new extension runs from Narellan Road at Camden Valley Way through to The Northern Road.
The upgrade works were announced in March 2003 by the NSW Government as part of the traffic and transport improvements for the Camden local government area in March 2003.
The extension will improve traffic flow and reduce travel times. Road safety for pedestrians and motorists will also be improved. The project involved the construction of six lanes at the Camden Valley Way intersection through to four lanes (divided by central median) at the new signalised intersection of The Northern Road and The Old Northern Road.
Benefits
The immediate benefits of the new road are:
Improved traffic flow, reduced travelling times and lower road user costs.
Improve road safety for all road users.
Additional bus stops provided.
Key features
The new section of road connects Narellan Road with The Northern Road. Features include:
Two lanes in each direction with a central median, through to three lanes at the Camden Valley Way intersection.
Two new bus bays along Narellan Road and one new bus bay on Camden Valley Way, opposite Sharman Close.
Improved pedestrian facilities at the Narellan Road / Camden Valley way intersection.
New landscaping along the route to blend in with the existing surroundings.
The RTA appreciates your patience while the works on the Narellan Road Extension were completed.
