Keeping the community informed
The local community will be provided with information before and during construction of the bypass. Community involvement will include the establishment of a community liaison group, ongoing advertising of construction activities, a project website and display centre.
A community liaison group (CLG) has been formed to assist with detailed design and to exchange information on the project.
The first meeting was held on 2 December 2004. The meeting notes from each meeting will be posted on this website (following group agreement they are correct).
The project team has been working with the Moree town centre bypass CLG throughout the design process. Members of the group, including residents, business operators and community representatives, have provided useful input to the design and planning process. The project team has also been working closely with Aboriginal community representatives to develop a number of cultural heritage features as part of the project design.
Council and community members have contributed to elements of the urban and landscape design of the project such as selection of plant and tree species.
