A full list of the Conditions of Approval for the MR92 Upgrade from Nowra to Nerriga is available to view or download from the box at the bottom of this page.
All works will be undertaken in accordance with the project’s 64 conditions of approval. The then Minister for Infrastructure and Planning issued the conditions on 20 June 2005.
The conditions include requirements for monitoring, assessment, reporting and consultation when undertaking works. These conditions are for monitoring and compliance requirements for noise and vibration during construction and provide clear guidance on the processes required for community involvement and environmental management.
Approval authorities
The following is a list of relevant authorities and their area of responsibility for the MR92 Upgrade.
Minister for Infrastructure and Planning
Approval authority under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
Department of Planning www.planning.nsw.gov.au
Approval of various environmental and management plans as required under the project Conditions of Approval. Regulate activities that impact on watercourses, riparian zones and groundwater within Crown lands, and soil management issues.
Department of Environment and Conservation (NSW) www.dec.nsw.gov.au
The Department regulates:
- Activities to develop and maintain National Parks and nature reserves.
- Natural and cultural heritage including biodiversity and threatened species, Aboriginal cultural heritage, historic sites and pest management.
- Sustainable consumption, resource use and waste management.
Heritage Office NSW www.heritage.nsw.gov.au
Approval authority for activities that impact or potentially impact on non indigenous heritage items.
Shoalhaven City Council www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au
Shoalhaven Council is responsible for MR92 between Nowra and the council boundary at Endrick River. Council maintains the present road and approves any road closures.
Palerang Council www.palerang.nsw.gov.au
Palerang Council is responsible for MR92 west of the Endrick River. Council maintains the present road and approves any road closures.
Sydney Catchment Authority www.sca.nsw.gov.au
The Sydney Catchment Authority is a NSW Government agency whose task is to manage and protect Sydney's catchments and supply bulk water to its customers.
Department of Environment and Heritage www.deh.gov.au
The Department is responsible for approval in relation to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, (EPBC Act) 1999.
