Hexham to Bulahdelah
Construction work will take place at Tomago Road (just north of Hexham). Temporary traffic control with reduced speed limits will be in operation from Monday 14 to Sunday 20. Shoulder and/or northbound fast lane closures will occur from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 (9.30am to 2.30pm). Some minor delays will be experienced.
Power line work will take place at Heatherbrae (6 to 7km north of Hexham). Temporary traffic control will be implemented on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 (8.00pm to 5.00am night), and Sunday 27 (6.00am to 2.00pm) involving reduced speed limits and lane closures with intermittent complete stoppages. Some minor delays will be experienced.
Pavement maintenance and/or road marking work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures at some locations:
- Raymond Terrace to Karuah (7 to 31km north of Hexham) from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 (7.00pm to 5.00am night); and
- Burdekins Gap (8 to 12km south of Bulahdelah) on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 (7.00am to 6.00pm).
Construction work will take place between Myall Way (13km north of Karuah) and Bulahdelah. Temporary traffic diversions including reduced speed limits and lane closures with intermittent stoppages will be implemented from Monday 21 to Friday 25 (7.00am to 6.00pm). Minor delays may be experienced.
Bulahdelah to Taree
Delineation, road marking and/or vegetation management work will take place at the following locations. Some minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented (6.30am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures at some locations:
- Newmans Rd (northbound 13km north of Bulahdelah) on Wednesday 23; &
- Purfleet (9km south of Taree) to Taree from Monday 21 to Friday 25.
Taree to Kempsey
Construction work will take place between Coopernook and Herons Ck (25 to 56km north of Taree). Temporary traffic control will be implemented from Tuesday 22 to Saturday 26 (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, lane closures with only one lane alternately available and intermittent stoppages. Blasting operations with closures in both directions will take place (2.00pm to 2.15pm) at Johns River (41km north of Taree) on Tuesday 22, and at Kew (52km north of Taree) on Thursday 24. Motorists should provide an additional 15 min. travel time as considerable delays will be experienced.
Vegetation management work will take place between Kundabung (17km south of Kempsey) and South Kempsey. Mobile traffic control will be implemented from Monday 21 to Friday 25 (6.30am to 4.30pm). No delays are expected.
Construction work will take place at Maria River (7km south of Kempsey). Temporary traffic diversions to the southbound lanes with reduced speed limits will be in place from Monday 21 to Sunday 27. Some minor delays will be experienced.
Pavement maintenance, delineation and/or guidepost work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits and lane closures with only one lane alternately available at some locations:
- Coopernook (26km north of Taree) to South Kempsey from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25;
- Rossglen (5km south of Kew) on Monday 21, Wednesday 23 and Friday 25;
- Herons Creek (northbound 7km north of Kew) on Tuesday 22; and
- Greenwattle Ck (4km south of Kempsey) to South Kempsey on Thursday 24 (9.30am to 3.00pm).
Kempsey to Coffs Harbour
Vegetation management work will take place between Frederickton and Clybucca (6 to 22km north of Kempsey). Mobile traffic control will be implemented from Monday 21 to Friday 25 (6.30am to 4.30pm). No delays are expected.
Street light work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented (9.30am to 3.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, intermittent stoppages, shoulder and/or lane closures with only one lane alternately available at some locations:
- Frederickton (7km north of Kempsey) on Tuesday 22; and
- Valla Beach to Raleigh (24 to 39km south of Coffs Harbour) from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24.
Pavement maintenance and/or delineation work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented involving reduced speed limits and lane closures with only one lane alternately available:
- Macksville (52km north of Kempsey) on Monday 21 (9.30am to 3.00pm); and
- Nambucca Heads (10km north of Macksville) from Monday 21 to Friday 25 (9.30am to 3.00pm).
Construction work will take place at Bonville (8 to 19km south of Coffs Harbour). Temporary traffic diversions with reduced speed limits, lane and shoulder closures will be in place from Monday 21 to Sunday 27. Intermittent stoppages will occur from Monday 21 to Friday 25 (9.30am to 3.00pm). Some minor delays will be experienced.
Coffs Harbour
Delineation and/or traffic signal work will take place at the following locations. Some minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures:
- Isles Drive (northbound) on Monday 21 (8.00pm to 11.00pm night); and
- Isles Drive to Park Avenue from Monday 21 to Wednesday 23 (7.00pm to 6.00am night).
Power line work will take place between Thompsons Rd and Combine St. Temporary traffic control will be implemented on Saturday 26 (2.00pm to 6.00pm) involving a southbound reduced speed limit, shoulder and slow lane closure. Some minor delays will be experienced.
Coffs Harbour to Grafton
Power line work will take place at Moonee (14 to 18km north of Coffs Harbour). Temporary traffic control will be implemented on Sunday 27 (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures with only one lane alternately available. Minor delays will be experienced.
Construction work will take place at Wells Crossing (21km south of Grafton). Temporary traffic control will be implemented from Monday 21 to Saturday 26 (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving a southbound reduced speed limit, shoulder and partial slow lane closure. Some minor delays will be experienced.
Grafton to Maclean
Construction work will take place at Shark Creek (7km south of Maclean). Temporary traffic control will be implemented from Monday 21 to Saturday 26 (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits and lane closures with only one lane alternately available. Minor delays will be experienced.
Maclean to Ballina
Bridge work will take place at Richmond River, Wardell (16km south of Ballina). Temporary traffic control will be implemented on Wednesday 23 (7.00am to 4.00pm) involving a reduced speed limit, stoppages and lane closures with only one lane alternately available. Minor delays will be experienced.
Construction work will take place for the Ballina Bypass (5 to 8km south of Ballina). Temporary traffic control will be implemented from Monday 21 to Friday 25 (9.30am to 3.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or mobile lane closures. Some minor delays will be experienced.

- Chatsworth (12 to 14km north of Maclean) on Thursday 24 and Friday 25
- New Italy (7km south of Woodburn) on Wednesday 23;
- Woodburn (37km south of Ballina) from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24; and
- Pimlico to Teven Road (4 to 6km south of Ballina) on Monday 21 (7.00pm to 7.00am night).
Ballina
Streetlight work will take place between Teven Road and Horizon Drive. Temporary traffic control will be implemented on Thursday 24 (9.00pm to 6.00am night) involving a reduced speed limit with shoulder and/or lane closures. Some minor delays may be experienced.
Construction work will take place at River and Kerr Street intersection. Temporary traffic control will be implemented on Sunday 27 (5.00am to 10.00am) with northbound reduced speed limits, lane closures and stoppages. All vehicles in excess of 3.5 m. wide are required to contact 0419 473 939 at least one (1) hour prior to reaching the site. Minor delays will be experienced.
Ballina to Queensland State Border
Construction work will take place for the Ballina Bypass (4 to 13km north of Ballina). Temporary traffic control will be implemented from Monday 21 to Friday 25 (7.00am to 6.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, short term stoppages, shoulder and/or lane closures. Minor delays will be experienced.
Pavement maintenance, testing, safety camera and/or vegetation management work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented involving reduced speed limits and lane closures with only one lane alternately available at some locations:
- Cumbalum (6 to 9km north of Ballina) on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 (7.00pm to 7.00am night);
- Tintenbar (11 to 13km north of Ballina) on Thursday 24 (7.00pm to 7.00am night);
- Chinderah Bypass (10km south Qld Border) from Monday 21 to Saturday 26 (7.00am to 5.00pm);
- Chinderah Bypass (9 to 14km south Qld Border) from Mon. 21 to Sat. 26 (7.00pm to 6.00am night);
- Banora Point (6km south Qld Border) from Monday 21 to Thursday 24 (7.00pm to 6.00am night); &
- Tweed Heads Bypass from Monday 21 to Friday 25 (9.30am to 3.00pm).

While proceeding through these work sites, motorists are requested to observe all warning signs, adhere to any direction given by traffic controllers and reduce speed accordingly.
