Moorland to Herons Creek

Moorland to Herons Creek

The project extends 22.2 kilometres from the northern end of the proposed Coopernook to Moorland project to the southern end of the existing dual carriageway north of Herons Creek. Highway improvements at Kew and Johns River are included as part of the project.

On January 11 2007, the Acting Prime Minister and the NSW Roads Minister, announced planning approval was granted on the Moorland to Herons Creek upgrade.

The RTA commissioned Arup (environmental and engineering consultants) to develop this project incorporating:

  • Community consultation.
  • Generation of route options.
  • Evaluation of route options to assist selection of a preferred route.
  • Environmental impact assessment.
  • Concept design.

This website provides information on the project, its environmental assessment, the main steps in the study process and the conditions of project approval.
