The Waterfall Way is an important route connecting the seaboard and Coffs Harbour district with the coastal hinterland of the Bellingen area, the tablelands of Dorrigo, Armidale and beyond.
Current status
The RTA is carrying out a range of important projects on Waterfall Way in 2010 including work in the following sections:
- Armidale to Dorrigo.
- Dorrigo to Bellingen.
- Bellingen to the Pacific Highway.
These projects include:
- A new project from Pacific Highway to Connell's Creek, which will include improvements in the vicinity of Cameron's Corner.
- An $8.5 million project to build new bridges at St Helena Creek and Four Mile Creek. This is scheduled to be complete in August 2010, weather permitting.
- Repairing landslips after heavy rain fall at Gordonville Cutting, Newell Falls, and Sherrard Falls.
- Reconstruction of the Waterfall Way west of Dorrigo, which is scheduled to commence later this year.
A community update containing the latest details of the 2010 projects is available in the files box below.
While temporary traffic controls and reduced speed limits are in operation, motorists are asked to obey all signs and directions to help ensure the safety of workers and other road users.
The RTA thanks local residents and motorists for their patience during these important projects.
