As part of the Great Western Highway upgrade, work has been completed between Churchill Street and Grose Road at Faulconbridge to enhance safety through the Coomassie Shopping Centre precinct.

Project benefits
The upgrading of this 600 metre section of the Great Western Highway has had the following benefits for the community:
Road safety - improved safety for all road users.
Improved pedestrian & cyclist safety - new pedestrian refuges, a median fence and designated bicycle lanes improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
Local environment - landscape and urban design initiatives enhance the shopping centre precinct in line with the completed works at nearby Faulconbridge.
