Central Coast Highway with Brisbane Water Drive and Manns Road at West Gosford

Two shortlisted access options are now on display for the West Gosford intersection upgrade.

Your comments on the short listed options are invited and will be accepted until 27 November 2009.

The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) proposes upgrading the Central Coast Highway at Brisbane Water Drive and Manns Road, West Gosford.

This project is funded by the NSW Government.

The Central Coast Highway provides the major road link from the F3 Sydney–Newcastle Freeway to Gosford, Erina and the coastal suburbs. Brisbane Water Drive and Manns Road are vital links between Gosford, Woy Woy and Narara providing access to railway stations, local businesses, shopping centres, the Central Coast Highway and the F3 Freeway.

The project is being undertaken to:

  • Resolve safety and congestion issues.
  • Provide improved capacity for future growth.

Two shortlisted access options for the West Gosford intersection upgrade are now on display.

Your comments on the shortlisted options are invited and will be accepted until 27 November 2009.

What happens next?

A preferred option for the West Gosford intersection upgrade has not been selected at this stage.

A decision on the preferred option will be made following:

  • The outcomes of the technical, environmental and social impact investigations.
  • Community and stakeholder comment on the shortlisted options.
  • The outcome of a value management workhop.

A recommendation will be made to the Minister for Transport on the preferred option which will then be displayed for further community comment.

A preferred option will be announced in early 2010.

Are you interested in participating on the value management workshop?

Nominations from the public are invited to participate in the value management workshop.

In order to nominate, community members can attend the 9 November 2009 community information session and nominate in person or contact the freecall project hotline on 1800 115 418.

Nominations must be received by the RTA Central Coast Office by Monday 16 November 2009.

All community members nominating to participate in the value management workshop must be available to attend a pre value management training session for three hours on 18 November 2009, the value management workshop on 2 and 3 December 2009 and a debriefing session on 4 December 2009.

Comparing a flyover and a ground level upgrade

The RTA has assessed a ground level upgrade as the best solution to improve the Central Coast Highway, Brisbane Water Drive/Manns Road intersection. The RTA is committed to retaining capacity in the ground level upgrade design for a flyover should it ever be required in the future.
