Residents and motorists are advised that deliveries of construction materials to the Sydney Harbour Bridge will take place from late June 2007, as part a two-year improvement and maintenance program.
Some materials will be transferred to the underside of the bridge deck from barges. Other deliveries will take place on bridge deck by road.
Barge deliveries will start next month, weather permitting. These deliveries will take place over the next three months and will largely occur Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm. Some deliveries may also occur Sunday to Thursday between 9pm and 5am.
Road deliveries will occur at night on an ongoing basis during the current schedule of work. They will take place Sunday to Thursday, between 9pm and 5am. Lane closures on the Harbour Bridge will be kept to a minimum and motorists will be advised on electronic message signs.
Any noise at night will be kept to a minimum. Lighting will be used at night, but will be directed away from nearby residences.
Residents are being advised directly about the work.
The RTA thanks the public for its patience while this essential work takes place.
