Main Roads Journal May 1931

Summary

The Princes Highway between Oak Flats and Dunmore was constructed in the late 1920s. Whilst this was great step forward for its day, and was the subject of a long article in the May 1931 Main Roads Journal, it is no longer suitable for the traffic flows that it is required to carry.
Early planning and consultation with the local landowners resulted in the RTA identifying a new road corridor, generally following the railway line. This new corridor was reserved in Shellharbour City Council’s local environment plan in 1986.
