Main Road 92 Preferred Activity Report (PAR)
Summary
The PAR details the modifications to the Proposal as exhibited in the EIS to upgrade and seal a 54 kilometre section of Main Road 92 (MR92) between Hames Road (near Nowra) and Nerriga.
A Preferred Activity Report (PAR), part of the RTA's Representations Report, was displayed in September and November 2004. The PAR summarised and justified the differences between the final proposed activity and the activity described in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
The modifications that have been made to the proposal were a result of representations received in response to the EIS exhibition and other information that became available after the exhibition.
The modifications comprise:
- The inclusion of a westbound (downhill) overtaking lane at Bulee Mountain and modifications to the three eastbound overtaking lanes at this location. One of the uphill overtaking lanes has been lengthened to improve safety and the other two have been slightly repositioned.
- Reconfiguration of the MR92/Turpentine Road intersection, improving continuity for through traffic on MR92 and significantly reducing the amount of earthworks required.
- Redesign of the steep grade east of Sassafras, to reduce impact on Morton National Park.
