So you think you can Engineer? This is the question that will be posed to girls entering year 11 at a four-day summit in January 2011.

A  summit for young women interested in a career in Engineering

The 'So you think you can Engineer' summit will take place between Tuesday 11 - Friday 14 January at the University of Wollongong to showcase career opportunities in Engineering. The summit is an opportunity to learn about career opportunities in the engineering industry. There are site visits and and participants can meet with industry leaders, academics and other women with similar interests from across NSW.

As a gold sponsor, Roads and Maritime Services plays a key role with Roads and Maritime Services engineers, graduates, cadets and scholars who volunteer to be team leaders, campus guides and presenters.

Ann Pitkeathly, Principal Advisor, Workplace Diversity and Equity says, "Roads and Maritime Services has been sponsoring the event for four years. Its always an excellent opportunity for our female engineers to share their career successes with capable young girls.

"I encourage anyone with daughters, grand daughters, nieces and friends going into year 11 who have a keen interest in maths or science to attend. The summit offers young women a wonderful insight into engineering as a real career option."
