Information for visiting International delegations

The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) International Visitors Policy is applied to all requests by visiting international delegations. The Policy is:

  1. A minimum of 4 weeks notice must be provided to the RTA in writing prior to the proposed visit date to enable sufficient time for arrangements to be made.
  2. All visit requests must be accompanied by an official letter of request from either the relevant government agency or private company who are sponsoring the visit.

    Official letters of request must include the following details:
    a. Confirmed date of delegation visit.
    b. Where the delegation is from.
    c. Delegates names.
    d. Delegates titles.
    e. Purpose of visit.
    f. Specific key areas of interest within the RTA.
    g. Whether an interpreter will be accompanying the delegation.
  3. Visit requests are subject to the RTA having the available resources to meet with the international delegation at the requested time.
  4. A fee is charged for visits by international delegations booked through a private organisation either here in Australia or from overseas. The fee structure (including GST) is:
    1-2 hour visit           $750
    Half (½) day visit     $1,500 
    One (1) day visit      $3,000

    Payment for visits is to be made by cheque on the day of the visit to the RTA.  Cheques should be made payable to ‘NSW Roads and Traffic Authority’.  An invoice will be sent with the letter of invitation.

    There is no fee for official government requests which have come through the relevant embassy in Australia (verification required).

    Any requests for exemptions to the above fees should be put in writing and referred to:

  5. The RTA is not responsible for providing transport to and from the RTA or accommodation arrangements. These arrangements and costs are to be met by the international delegation.

International delegations wishing to visit the RTA’s Transport Management Centre for commercial purposes relating to Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS) need to contact the Manager Client Liaison, Traffic Systems on: +61 2 8396 1604.
