The RTA Code of Conduct and Ethics

The RTA Code of Conduct and Ethics sets out the ethical principles and professional standards of conduct for RTA employees. The Code is not intended to be a comprehensive set of rules but rather a set of principles that form an ethical framework for conduct and behaviour in the RTA workplace. It provides guidance for RTA staff on how to:

  • Carry out their duties in a lawful and ethical way.
  • Interact with other RTA staff and members of the public in a fair and courteous manner.

The key principles that all RTA staff, as public sector employees, should aspire to are:

  • Serving public above private interests.
  • Accountability.
  • Leadership.
  • Openness and objectivity.
  • Honesty.
  • Courage.

All RTA permanent, temporary and casual staff are required to comply with the RTA Code of Conduct and Ethics and approved RTA policies.
